CoffeeHead | 10% off for Gastrology readers

A café based in the heart of Camberwell, CoffeeHead prides itself on providing legendary coffee and good food.

The café has a contemporary vibe - comfortable wooden furnishings are juxtaposed with vintage pieces to create clever accents.
We were privileged to meet experienced owner and chef Ash who has decades of industry experience under his belt and was clearly passionate about the food and coffee served at the establishment.
The menu is extensive with a great options to suit most. In terms of coffee, this place is for all you coffee enthusiasts out there. Although not hidden in an obscure alley way, CoffeeHead pleases with its brilliant array of coffee choices. Single origin, house blend, short, long, even cold drip – you are certainly spoiled for choice.
Poached chicken and spicy carrot salad spinach, feta, dukkah, mint, olive oil

The spicy salad was a seemingly simple dish which boasted balanced layers of flavour. The chicken was perfectly cooked and went well with the carrots, spinach, feta, dukkah and mint. The refreshing olive oil dressing provided a lovely acidity which brought the dish together.
Eggs benedict with smoked Virginia Ham

Two perfectly poached eggs were succulently seasoned with smoked Virginia Ham and accompanied by a wonderfully luxurious hollandaise sauce a top toasted bread. In all, this dish was a respectable assembly of breakfast essentials.
Ricotta Pancakes caramelised mango and banana, sweetened ricotta, fresh mint and ginger crumble

The Ricotta Pancakes were a showstopper.  A simple breakfast favourite that amalgamates the best things in life. The pancakes were fluffy and moist and embellished with wonderfully caramelised mango and banana, sweetened ricotta, fresh mint and ginger crumble. Yum!
Our coffees were well made, with the slight sweetness of the frothed milk cutting through the residual brightness from the foundation espresso (in this instance, the Black Betty which boasted notes of hazelnut, dark chocolate and orange zest).  Each came with an intricate rosetta in the milk foam.
With a relaxed, unpretentious and uncomplicated approach, CoffeeHead welcomes its patrons with an atmosphere that exudes an air of calm and tranquillity which is further reinforced by its friendly and courteous service.
